CUU own 25% Schaft Creek: proven/probable min. reserves/940.8m tonnes = 0.27% copper, 0.19 g/t gold, 0.018% moly and 1.72 g/t silver containing: 5.6b lbs copper, 5.8m ounces gold, 363.5m lbs moly and 51.7m ounces silver; (Recoverable CuEq 0.46%)
"...Arizona ambitions can and should proceed in tandem with the Schaft Creek inititives."
I dont agree that Arizona ambitions 'should' proceed with SC initiatives. I invested in SC deposit and CUU's position on that deposit with the exploration upside that we've seen to date. I invested in the opportunity for a liquidity event out of this SC/Teck Agreement scenario.
As far as we know, we only suspect there is a porphyry source under those breccia pipes. The breccia pipes in themselves are not very mineable (via open pit) since they are relatively narrow, vertical, widespread, and localized leakages. Previous drilling got down to 300m and didn't find the porphry source so I can only assume that this source is deeper than 300m. That brings us dangerously close (if not past) to using very expensive underground methods for mining which depends on much higher grades than we are used to.
The depth and the grades required to make mining those depths increases the risk of not finding a mineable deposit. On top of that, we would need lots of water for processing the ore out of this hypothetical mine. I would like to know where the water would come from should we need it. No water, no mine.
CUU has gotten to the point that its market cap and share structure is too big for a few new drill cores to add value. If we could add value with drilling, we should have done it on ES, GK, or more into Discovery and Mike. These are targets with Mira, Titan and Magnetic geophysics and are ready to drill.
As far as we know, there are no comparable geophysics at Sombrero & Van Dyke. So we would need to implement some expensive surveys before any targeted drilling. If we started a Titan now, we might get the results back before Christmas. If we start drilling after Christmas, we might get some cores back from the lab around February at the earliest. The long cycle of discovering a mine has only just begun at this point.
As a result of my thoughts on this, I dont want to see my much if any of my portion of the "Liquidity Event" burned up in Arizona.
