Because this is the week that it becomes "months" and we were told it would take "weeks not months", coming from the Toronto show. The idea that if it's not out this week it'll be 2013 is because ... why would it take this long in the first place, something is either wrong or generally up if it takes longer than 2 months and if it's actual working on the BFS, the holidays and December isn't exactly a great month to finish and even if they do releasing it near Christmas probably won't be the best timing to release it.
