CUU own 25% Schaft Creek: proven/probable min. reserves/940.8m tonnes = 0.27% copper, 0.19 g/t gold, 0.018% moly and 1.72 g/t silver containing: 5.6b lbs copper, 5.8m ounces gold, 363.5m lbs moly and 51.7m ounces silver; (Recoverable CuEq 0.46%)
They have thrown us many little hints,
Copper Fox picked up Liard shares on 2 occasions (2388 and 26954). Obviously they want them.
Elmer was also invited on the Liard board by Teck. (Elmer is required a seat on that board for any negotiations to start, to have a voice)
Xstrata own 10.72% of the shares and are not willing to part with them.
If Xstrata doesn't want to part with 10.72% and CUU was very happy getting 1.47%...why would Teck even think of letting 78% go...
These shares have voting power under the agreement we can't see.
Forget about Teck backing out, or 20% or 40%. It's 75% or buyout.
IMO 75% is dangerous for Teck.
At 75% one would think that Teck can just earn it's interest back, but CUU still holds the shares until Teck earns.
What if CUU sold to Xstrata,,,,
Xstrata would have 10,72% + 1.47% + 78% = 90,19%
What kind of voting power (under an agreement we can't see) would 90,19% give Xstrata while Teck tries to earn back....
What if Xstrata wanted to enforce the 4 year clause....
Hmmm....
Trust me Teck cares alot...I'd be very happy with 75% because I welcome a bidding war for the 25%. But Teck will avoid alot of headaches by taking us out completely including our 1.47% in Liard.....
