The economy in general will be affected because he's going to run a huge deficit to stimulate things, or whatever. More social programs, more spending on science and the environment. It will likely hurt the youth of today most as they try to pay off the debt in about a decade when there are more people retired than working. But, hey, they voted for him.
Adding spendings will create jobs and help canadian companies hire, grow, pay more taxes, etc. If you are against science and environnement I guess we don't have much to argue about since you can't even talk about progress or sustainable future and possibly compete on the globe without these two. The way I see it, Conservatives strategy is to extract resources and have them shipped in some other country so they can make some bucks out of it (unlike us).
I don't see much negative impact on mining and on our investment with this government.
Furthermore, I welcome a switch of focus to Eastern Canada and an empowerment of the TRUE economic heart of the country which lies in the manufacturing sector that have struggled far too much in the last decade.
