Using terms like "tar sands" causes the argument to instantly losses credibility. Canadians should be proud of our industry and practices. Yes we have had a few black eyes. And yes we can strive to do better. however many Canadians including many of our politicians don't understand what funds the coffers, the transfer payments. Etc. Our natural resources including mining. Need to get to market. We are largely a land locked country or where our resources are need rail lines, pipelines and access to market.

My fear is our new PM will ignore this truth because optically it's easier to say no pipelines, no mines, no crude tankers. And just borrow money. All that does is kick a problem down the road to another generation of politicians and our kids.

The Canadian electorate needs to go back to school and learn finance 101. An election was just won and for that matter lost on some pretty trip I'll problems. and the real issues were glossed over. Trudeau will borrow without a thought of the recourse so he can flamboyantly write checks... Screwing our kids.....
