CUU own 25% Schaft Creek: proven/probable min. reserves/940.8m tonnes = 0.27% copper, 0.19 g/t gold, 0.018% moly and 1.72 g/t silver containing: 5.6b lbs copper, 5.8m ounces gold, 363.5m lbs moly and 51.7m ounces silver; (Recoverable CuEq 0.46%)
Nothing would stop a shareholder to sell his Teck shares the same day. Teck has a 1B plan to buy-back shares.
I would prefer 1$ today, than dividends in 10 years. With funds in the bank, we can also explore our other properties that we own 100%, not just 25%. This could add a lot more value rather to wait for Schaft Creek and dilute every year.
IMO, buyout price will be based on NAV. If they managed to get Schaft Creek around NPV (8%) 2B - 2.8B, our share for 1x NAV, which is a fair selling price based on industry, would be 500M to 700M. Maybe we could keep an exploring interest for the rest of Schaft Creek or keep a certain royalty for the upside, but let's get real, they won't pay us a lot for metal that will be extracted in 100 years.
