"long before that KRY will end up being sold or will sell it's contract to another player (probably Russian). The Russians are in the same area as KRY but have been applauded as model company"
They are either a "model company" or they pay the "right" people in the "right" way...
I was always curious as to what went on when Gold Fields gave up after trying for years to get a minor water use contract for their Choco 10 mine. After they sold the mine to Rusoro the required permit was issued without a fuss..
Of course Bolivar who built the mine and sold it to GFI operated it for some time before the sale without the proper permits in place and seemed to suffer no problems because of it. Bolivar management was also considered to be "well connected" in Venezuela.
So it all turns out to be a lucky coincidence for Rusoro who not only got a cheap working mine from GFI but also snagged the essential water permit that frustrated GFI for years?
What you get for being a "model company" I suppose providing you don't get caught. But in Venezuela who does the "catching"?
