Notster:
You certainly know a heck of a lot more about the situation than I do. That's why (necessity of DD aside) I usually just look for the people who know what they're doing and follow their interpretation of the situation. All I can say is, based on my own limited understanding, there seems to be more upside than downside with Century; and, even better, the upside has a fairly definite timeline, unlike most of what you can buy for 30 cents nowadays.
Note that (on the other board) someone pointed out that, in addition to the Deutsche Bank deal, CMM also has substantial capital commitments re: Lamaque. They still have to spend a lot of money over the next few years to keep it rolling. I forget the details, but it's all on SEDAR. That's part of what I was referring to when I said a big chunk of their gold won't be going to the profit column.
Perhaps (my own anti-Russian sentiments aside) Finsky is an added bonus - I'm sure he understands how to do whatever it takes to make a mine a success, and I'm also sure he's not some barefoot pilgrim chasing rainbows. Sometimes, perhaps in addition to needing vast experience to avoid pitfalls, you also need someone in charge who knows how to accomplish: and I'd have to think Finsky counts as one of those.
Anyway, I refuse to be described as a person who has a clue what he's doing, at this point.
