...this is critical information as it could be the Achilles heel for the project, thus I've sent it to SZM via their website contact info.
According to the Nova Scotia Environment-Wetland Alteration Approval website:
https://novascotia.ca/sns/paal/nse/paal586.asp
"Waiting Period: |
|
60 business days or less
Provided that all the items that must accompany the application has been received and accepted.
Note that if the Environmental Assessment process is triggered, the Wetland Approval process will not begin until the Environmental Assessment process is completed. See Related Requirements below for more information."

So again the question remains, has the permit been submitted (and is still pending approval over the last 14 months)?
and if not, why wouldn't have SZM just applied for the permit (even if premature) , as that would eliminate any prospective doubts (the fact that the project will have been de-risked to the maximal extent possible)
Is it due to the fact that the cost for such a permit is exorbitantly expensive , and SZM has limited funds in it's coffers at this time (? just enough to pay magement salaries )..No dice as the permit application itself is only $311.45.
Is it due to the fact that the license expires after 10 years? Again, not a reasonable argument as it can be renewed...
