I think people are reading into the assay talk a bit much.

He said next time Im on the show we'll talk assays - he didnt think about the meaning of what he said, he didnt word it in such a way to drop hints or whatever, plain and simple - next time he's on the show he'll talk assays, thats it. Boredom leads people to daydream and think of disecting a persons word by word.
