Herb, I remember reading something that I think Hoov wrote, about doing a ramp at the bottom of a pit, to do underground. That to me would make sense, with my very limited knowledge of mining. If there are narrow veins deeper down that contain deposits by hydofracturing, then it might make sense to get down to them through open pit mining, then proceed with underground.
