Bill, just another thought. I think one of the reason all largest manufacturers are jumping on EV production because they know that ICE technology just about to hit a roof. Only so much you can do with it, little 2.0 L engines with turbos, etc. Its like trying to improve a steam engine.
EV on another hand has so much potential, specially in a price reduction . As we all know one of the biggest expense is a battery pack and with improvement in that area that can drive cost down significantly. Outside battery - EV is relatively simple and cheap to built. So, they smell as "our friend " would say: $$$$$ and Booming profits.
