What bothers me most is that for the last 7 quarters in a row, PTSC has releaseda press release in conjunction with its quarterly or annual SEC filing. I have listed the links below to all of them. This is the first time since 2006 that they have missed doing so.
IMO, one of the MAJOR things stable and successful companies have provided the maket is consistency in the way they provide information. I think this engenders confidence by analysts and the market in general when companies are able to establish a process and CONSISTENTLY stick with it. I think it projects a stability and a competence by management that markets tend to appreciate. Certainly, for the market to REALLY appreciate it, the company must also provide successful results. PTSC HAS been doing this. Even the past quarter's results ARE very successful. For them to break from the communication convention speaks that something is going on, which can project instability in my opinion.
While the NDA can be the culprit for no discussion about the settlements, there should be no excuse for breaking with the convention on the 10Q release as it's clear from the comments included in the post settlement license PR's of Verigy, Humax and Psion that they ARE actually able to comment on business activities.
