Food, clothing, and shelter are the bare necessities.

The cell phone is a necessity for business. If streaming video becomes a necessity for business then I would agree with you. But right now it is a luxury with cell phone users. We have to be practical in hard times, which we may be on the verge of. Example...If my finances are strapped, what am I going to cut back on. Certainly not food, clothing, and shelter. I might get basic T.V. Instead of the premiere package. Then I may have to get rid of cable all together. My son's cell phone is history if I can't afford it. Unfortunately luxuries are the first to go...which is my whole point. Japan and Europe are way ahead of us in 3G cell technology and use, their markets are under a great deal of stress now also. So, right now I don't think it wise to invest in luxury items.I live on the water and hardly no one is taking their power boats out as in years past. The first things to go in a bad economy are luxury items. Lots of power boats up for sale in my area. If this economic package doesn't help the markets we are in deep do, do my friend. We are all going to be making expense decisions. I have a work provided cell phone, I really don't need one for personal use.I consider it a luxury, not a necessity. If my sons phone is such a necessiity to him, he can get a job and pay for it himself. If he wants streaming video, he can get that too, if he can afford it.

Sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree. Times they are a-changing...and so will we.
