I subscribe to Investools website. One of the features is called the Big Chart.

The Big Chart is updated daily. This daily updating will help you stay on top of industry group movement as it happens so you're able to follow institutional money even more closely than before.

In addition, the Big Chart ranks industry groups based on their relative performance to the overall market, with the first group being equal to 99, the second to 98 and so on. The group with a rank of 99 has outperformed the market by more than any other, while the group ranked at zero has been the worst performer. This ranking method allows you to more accurately see which groups are favored and where the footprints of the institutions lie as strong performing groups are recipients of greater amounts of institutional money.

With the Big Chart, your knowledge of big money movement is increased, allowing you to find those groups and stocks that are surpassing returns of the market, thus adding to the returns of your portfolio.

When you look at the chart the percentile number ranking farthest to the right represents the week of Feb. 4, 2008. The percentile farthest to the left represents April 28, 2008.

If you look at Metal mining for instance it is currently in the 93 percentile. Feb. 4, 2008 it was ranked in the 79th percentile.

The colour green is GOOD. You want to be in the green catagory.

Red is bad. Ie: If you scroll down you will see the 0 percentile which is mobile homes and RV's and consumer financial services (THIS IS WHERE YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE right now). Are you happy with metals being currently in the top 7? I am. Is the catagory green. Yes. Is being in the 93rd percentile good. Yes. Very Very good.
