I think that NOT drilled these 4 holes to get an idea of the anomaly geology, and the plan was to use the holes for down hole geophysics more than anything.

The other possibility was they were trying to decide where to put their drills during the breakup period. If this had worked out, they may have drilled this anomaly through breakup instead of AT12.
