"I am not alking about surprsies, I am talking about reasonable valuation..." Firstly I should point out that, although my post may have bounced off of yours as the source post, my comments are a response to a wide variety of posts and not specifically yours. That is the danger of not setting a new title. Apologies to you. As for my reference to surprises, this refers to the unpredictable nature of N.R.s and that no one is really in a position to be stating times for various releases and they have likely created more anxiety in investors than had they not been made. "You speak of having what you call a level outlook, seemingly balanced by the legitimate possibilty that things could go even lower," Incorrect. I said that investors may not be as happy as they'd like to be or something to that effect. I did not say that the sp could go lower though we can't rule that out either as many posters will remember themselves saying " I never thought we'd see below 2.50 again" or words to that effect. How many times have we heard that. But that is not my point. "but then you say "I firmly believe NOT is the place to be and a lot of people are going to be sorry they didn't buy in a very big way. We know the geological facts as reported by NOT and that they bode extremely well for the future. Now we need the correct chemistry of market sentiment and news to bring about the party.", which, if you read my post, is pretty much excatly what I am saying..." I stand by the above and I believe that you and I have much in common about our belief in NOT. Again, read my first response at the top of the page. "So other than providing a paradigm case of contradiction for us to enjoy, what's your point?" And now my point. NOT will be fantastic in its return on investment some time in the future and perhaps that's truly all we can agree to legitimately say. Predictions on timing of N.R.s and their content need to be toned down to allow a more even perspective with less hype. I know people are excited as they have a reason to be, however, a lot of posts need to be qualified, as some are, because they enter the realm of the irresponsible. One can be excited but still keep the head where it belongs. My comments are general and therefore don't apply to each individual specifically and I see no contradiction in what I'm saying. Bottom line ....people like to hear good news and enter the celebratory mindset while they recoil at anything that asks them to think from other perspectives. Like drugs it's hard to come down thus note the mood swing in posts from when things are good to when things get rough. Natural enough but the swings don't need to be so wide.
