With the recent introduction of Noront's new logo/motto there has been some speculation regarding the naming of the new town around the Eagles Nest....Chromeville...boring...Nemisville...better

Utilizing the FREELANG Ojibwe-English and English-Ojibwe online dictionary:

blackbird= asiginaak-wag

dance around= babaamishimo

metal= aabitawaabikoon

...needless to say the translation would be way to long to place on a city sign and too cumbersome to use in everyday parlance.

Utilizing my trusty abridged version (which has been Anglicized) I come up with:

Blackbird= Wawa (the primordial ancestor of all birds (including eagles and blackbirds))

To dance with joy (especially in a ring or circle)= Nakina

Metal-man= Nemis

Wawa Nakina Nemis= "the blackbirds dance around the metal-man"=

Wawanakinanemis

p.s. No offence meant to any of our Native bretheren...I am of Croatian ancestry and am open to all Croat jokes/jabs ;)

Cheers, Luker
