separation anxiety

"[...]Gold mineralization was encountered in holes targeting Eagle Two and the Blackbird deposits. In a number of cases holes encountered gold, nickel-copper and chromite mineralization in the same hole."
Come mining time, does anyone know how the different minerals will be separated given that they are all present together. i.e. say you have excavated a truckload of earth and now want to separate the nickel from the copper from the chromite from the gold. And, would the separation processes be mutually exclusive and not detrimentally interfere with the extraction of the other minerals.
And, what would be the order in which would be done. i.e. which minerals would come first and which last.
