Anyone else question the point of having a voting stars system on this board? What is the point of it?

Example: This morning I posted a repost of an email I sent to Investor Relations asking why there was a lag time in emailing shareholders the latest PR. I note that I have received 20 flags for this post andI do thank you.

However, during this exact time frame, I have been demoted from President to Vice President ! What could have been so offensive in my post?! It's obvious that attacks are continuing by groups opposing Presidents with differing viewpoints. (I.e. pro NOT or pro FWR?)

To me the technical part of this voting system, permitting Stars to be given, is not particularly effective. It enables a swarm of outside posters to rush in and play politics with the board, altering the ability of Presidents to keep decorum.

I don't know the answer, but I've had many PM's expressing disgust with this problem. Agoracom is not overseeing this board..we are supposed to do this. If the attacks continue, those who wish to disrupt the conversation here, will succeed because Presidents will hesitate to call violations. That's exactly what the disrupters want ! Please know that I'm all for dissent and debate, and oppose any overzealouness in judging posts.

Maybe the answer might be making it far more difficult to achieve President status, but once it is achieved, it cannot be challenged. Many fine posters have left this board due to the games played here.

I've already written to Agoracom about this. Their answer rightfully indicated that we have to downgrade the emotional level here, and be more tolerant etc. However, there was no emotion in my recent post, nor expressed intolerance.

I'm going to let it go now, but I think we have to guard this board carefully from an overload of anger and political correctness or, being voted President doesn't mean anything, and Presidents won't feel inspired to do their job.
