Preasens:
I wish to thank you for you posting(s) Re: “So the Cliffs/FWR deal is done.”
I do not post frequently, but read the contributions of others regularly; in this case I read the full thread associated with the above title. Presumably it is clear to you by now, that you have succeeded in getting our attention. Deservedly.
Starting with your first post: “Infrastructure?” - posted on Jan. 25. 10 12:04PM – just in case some posters may not have read it – I would like to offer some comments. After all – this is how it all started.
Your brief, concise posting caused some concerns, raised questions, provoked answers, and inspired new ideas. If you hoped for exchange of ideas with your fellow Noront shareholders, you definitely succeeded beyond all expectations.
My comments at random:
When translating from one language to another, one often crosses not only a language-boundary, but to various extent also a cultural boundary.
This was the case with the sentence “ I own 1 or 2 shares of Noront.” It is verbatim translation of a German sentence “Ich habe 1 oder 2 Aktien in Noront” . It is an accurate translation, but it did not convey this expression’s inferred meaning in German usage. English readers sensed that within the context something is amiss, that’s why the inquiry from Jacki97. An idiomatic or colloquial translation of the same sentence such as “I too own a few shares in Noront” would have made it clear to us the irony attached to the sentence, that you mean it with the tongue-in-the-cheek.

Best regards,

P.S.: All this of course is just my opinion, and nothing of the above should be interpreted as criticism directed at any of the statements or fellow Posters.
We on this Forum have many contributions originating from German, Dutch and other posters from Europe and elsewhere, whose views enrich us, and help us to become better informed investors. They also serve us with benchmarks as how far the Gospel on Noront and the Ring of Fire has spread. They bring to this Forum macro-economic thinking, international trading backgrounds, all which are especially relevant in time of globalization of the industrialized world.
I especially admire their efforts and talents in view that they are reaching us in English, which may not be their respective first language.
