"If you've stopped to ponder why the boat loads of NOT shares were given up over the last couple of weeks, just imagine owning a million shares that dropped .10. Let's see, my higher math abilities tell me that that's about a 100,000 dollars..... am I right? That's a 100,000 that has remained in someone's pocket at least, or is being used to make money on some other investment as we write."

I like what you are saying in your post. But just a note about the above. For every buyer there is a seller and for every seller there is a buyer; so that's a bit of a wash. No doubt some sellers are deploying the money elsewhere and hopefully they are making money on other investments and hopefully they will return to NOT at a time they see as being appropriate.

But when you have one million shares and the share price goes down ten cents where does the missing one hundred thousand dollars go. Sadly the money is not in somone's pocket or invested elsewhere. It has disappeared. I just got through reading the book, "Aftershock" and they say the money has gone to "money heaven".

The book is recommended (and scary) reading.

Regarding NOT, I think one has to keep a core position in case a buyout comes out of the blue. Other than the core, buy some when you think the price is low and sell some when it gets a bit high. Don't be too greedy, don't fall in love and don't get in over your head.

Now I just have to do as I say.

Don't punish yourself too much over what has happened in the past. In the beginning it looked like there was going to be nickel all over the place up there and NOT had the largest land position. Things would be vastly different if all that chromite had been nickel instead. Things would also be different if we hadn't gone through the 2008 stock panic and if the world economy was not in such bad shape. NOT still has lots of value but this thing is turning out to be a bit trickier than we thought.
