One possible reason Xstrata has shown little interest yet, is that they are in the process of deciding on if they should spend approx 4 billion on the Koniambo nickel latererite project or not. Great grades and huge orebody, a main question is capital costs. At some point they have to committ otherwise they loose the rights of that orebody.
