You have to be correct about the 2000 m results moving sp but in most cases when the sp moves on the news, profit takers are the ones dropping the price.
The manipulators do not put out large chunks of shares for sale but one or two lots at a time ( manual or computer programs). This is usually done during low volume days and well after news. They do not want to part with too many shares to get it down. Note that in most situations they want to recover the shares they lost during the sp plunge above those that they obtain while the sp is down. Not easy on low volume days.

The very fact that sp is now in the 1.80 zone instead of 1.60 or even 1.50 should tell us that they anticipate a decent movement to the upside and probably they do not expect it to return to the 1.50-60 area after the news.
