As someone so nicely pointed out me me my theory has a bug in it. The Tonnage of rock would not increase as that is reliant on the specific gravity of the material. which does not chnage that much with massives. BUT the value of each tonne of rock goes up by increasing the number of pounds in the tonne of Rock. So I was wrong in saying the tonnes of rock would increase it is the Ni pounds/tonne that would increase...

1000m3 of rock = aprox 3000(SG of 3) tonnes of rock

3000 * 2000(pounds) * 1.8% Ni = 10,800 pounds of Ni * $9.00 = $97,200

3000 * 2000(pounds) * 4% Ni = 24000 pounds of Ni * $9.00 = $216,000

Hopefully this is better.. TTY
