I always wake up grumpy. Just the way I am.
When I head to the kitchen, I get grumpier when I find that that we have run out of coffee, and the kids have left a holy mess.
If the dog has had an accident, this does nothing for my disposition.
That said, the family is fine, the house is sound, and there's always more coffee a short drive away at Tim Hortons.
And my dog can always get away with murder. One short tail wag and he's back in the good book.
So here's the thing for those who took note of my...gentle missive of dissatisfaction the other day.
I continue to hold, and to expand, my holdings in Noront. I have not sold a share other than to play with a few on the swings. I am not going anywhere, nor do I intend to be moved off my position by manipulators, nay sayers, or iffy management.
In the biggrer picture, directors, and even CEO's will come and go. Those that do their job effectively will stick around longest, if they are not muscled out from outside forces.
For the record, I am a bigger fan of NOT than I am of the current management team, but that too can change.
"Negativism" so called, is an interesting concept, but it should not be assumed when constructive criticism is intended. This BOD needs to fine tune its approach to its shareholders. When lengthy periods of silence are broken only by announcements that will not, and could not, positively effect shareholder value, this is a questionable course to follow.
The First Nations and thier concerns are important, but the shareholders, and thier investment is more important.
Handheld gizmos and famous hockey players making movies about FN children are interesting, but not nearly as interesting as assay results.
Deals between Cliffs and smaller players are fascinating, but why do we sit silently by while the action plays out around us?
Other than ongoing entreaties to be patient, I would like to know this company's realistic long term plan, and I would like to see progress reports towards realizing that plan.
Not too much to ask. It is my money they are using. It is our financial interest that funds this company.
To categorize these questions as negativism is to miss the point. In answering these questions, and communicating with the shareholders regularly and intelligently, this company will grow in value.
And that would be a good thing.
