'I do wonder if the apparent witholding of news is being done for strategic purposes, like holding the cards to wreck a hostile takeover bid, or maintaining the ability to entice a bidding war when (not if) a lowball bid comes wafting in on a stinky breeze.

i'd rather see noront in a proactive scenario and get the price and attitude up by putting confidence into the market sentiment rather than holding on to news of assays and then putting it out as a reaction to some outside aggressive takeover.
