The summer doldrums is simply a left over conditioning which actually does not exist though it's conditioning still provides the affect. Current technology makes the market a year round (minus statutory holidays etc.) operation with computers largely running the show in any event. Mid-summer is a hot time for mining exploration and it is expected that there will likely be volatility in companies that have found significant resources. Everyone is watching the market over the summer..... everyone. As long as there is a blackberry or laptop greed prevails.
