Some interesting posts on JJ. Brad thanks for explaining your frustration with Noront as many investors share your feelings but lack the ability/desire to express them so vividly.
From my perspective the problems with Noront started with the ousting of Richard Nemis and the proxy battle that ensued.
To me it has been clear from that time forward (including the present) that Irwin is pulling the strings and his puppets are the face of the company.
How can we ever forget the era of mut and Jeff (Parisoto and Hamilton).
It is clear that Irwin only wants people on the front lines that he can control.
If Joanne has indeed departed I wish her well. Clearly she has done well for herself and how can we argue with that. She did not appoint herself to the posiion of vice-president and award herself all those shares/options..
However any thinking person must have been scatching their head wondering why a company would reward someone with her limited bacground/experience/education so handsomely? Clearly they could have paid someone else much less.
Not taking anything away from Joanne but she has relatively little experience in mining/exploration and is not a geologist/engineer or anything remotely connected.
Every one of us that had the opportunity to interact with her will likely agree that Joanne is a tireless worker and there is a lot to be said for that. However I for one always got the impression she was in a bit over her head and was being taken advantage of. Perhaps she finally recognized the manipulation and got out of the kitchen.
As for the future of Noront, the nickel is not going away. They may or may not have found the source of the intrusion but this will someday be a mine.
The problem for investors and possible suitors is the lack of infrastructure. The infrastructure will come but the question is when?
It is still very early in the life of the JAmes Bay Lowlands and there is much exploration yet to be done. Based on the amount and diversity of mineralization found to date, there is a good chance that other large deposits of nickel/copper/gold/chromite etc will be discovered and this will accellerate the development of the roads/rail/electricity etc.
Tribute will be drilling again soon on their Sunday anomaly and all eyes will be on this project. This could indeed the next major discovery that we are all waiting for.
Lets all join in wishing Joanne the very best in her future endeavouirs.
