Message: Ontario MNDMF Minister Michael Gravelle’s Keynote Speech to Federation of Northe

Yes, Edgy, I do believe you are on the right track.

I have long been an advocate of an Ontarian deep water port on James Bay, with the requisite land connections to make it work.

With climate change, this also holds the promise of a more economic way of shipping bulk commodities to Asia by way of the long elusive "North West Passage". It is disconcerting to see so little promotion of this "sea change" at Queen's Park, especially when Quebec is projecting a deep water port on James Bay in spite of already having ample deep water access via the St Lawrence.

Where are our long range planners and visionaries? We need to focuss on the means and benefits not the current obstacles.

O.F.
