For shareholders already intimately familiar with the RoF there was not much new. I will not talk about issues covered by Sudbury Star.

Transportation - of the 3 alternatives presented to date she said the shortest route is to the south. Cliffs wants to start with a road to Nakina to catch the CN main line and send the ore to Capreol (Sudbury). She made it clear that Sudbury has the advantage over other Northern Communities.

Power - she says the east west alternative is being planned...wants to bring power to the First Nations. Gravelle says Ontario offers a 25% reduction in electicity rates and reduced corporate taxes? (he was on CBC radio Tuesday). Of course this is the opening position...Cliffs will make a case for better rates. Cliffs current proposal is 30 MW of deisel generated power to operate an open pit and concentrator at the site. They need 300MW for the smelter which is one of the reasons they chose Capreol. Noront needs 25 MW for underground mine and concentrator.

Bill 191 - the MNR has started work on land use planning.

The Ont Gov't has put together a "One Window Coordination Process" pulling together all involved Gov't agencies to ensure they are working together

First Natioons...The Northern Training Fund provides $45M for training over 3 years..need to build up the FN capacity and abilities in order for them to benefit from employment opportunities.

Infrasructure Planning - there is an "Infrstructure Conference" June 23&24. Stakeholders will discuss alternatives. Christine avoided talking about who will pay for infrstructure but it was clear Ontario will expect Federal funding ...it will be a joint funding. Clearly the province will need to be involved with transmission lines and generation. She started the talk by stating "Infrastructure will be the key".
