I disagree about rail being the best way for Noront to ship. If the line is in and a reasonable rate is negotiated, maybe they could use it. Noront is planning a million tons a year of ore. Concentrated on site and then shipped. The final amount of shipping weight can easily be done by truck. The chromite is a different story and is more weight intensive and should have the rail. I could use a 400 series highway to take my product to market and save some time but I am still making lots of money with the county road I have to use. If I had to pay a toll the cost would be too much and I would stick to my road. Still making lots of money either way. oront should stay out of rail and let the Baosteel and Cliffs duke it out.
