This is a good day.

Irrespective of the merits of the case, what I believe will come out of this ruling as an important bench mark, is clarity around Provincal responsibility for the duty to consult in their role as the Crown. The ball for dealing with Aboriginal issues relating to resource development is clearly in the Provincial ballpark.
