I am only in favour Of Webequie to have a Rep. who are to stand for the natives, being the closest ones to the Ring but imho do not own any part of the land in question.

But if you do that, half a dozen other FN communities will be in an uproar. And some of them will take steps to disrupt the process of development of any type. So that would be counterproductive for everyone in the long run.

Following that, if you have a slimmed down committee but need to add representation from a group of FN communities, the committee becomes too heavily weighted with respect to FN participation. So to balance it out, you need larger representation also from the other groups. And suddenly we're back to a big committee.

The only way around this is to have an accepted representative for all of the FN communities on the DevCo board. If and only if this is the case, a slimmed down governance board might be possible. Would Bob Rae fit the bill? I'm not sure.
