Every thing was fine with the enforcement by police during FN protests but when a native was shot by a police sharp shooter and the media made the situation into an embarrassment to the then Harris government, Harris told police to treat them with kids gloves and no shooting without expressed permission from the top.

That is how I remember the incident.
And that is why now imo the natives have more freedom in Ontario to do what they please.
