Message: “All of our landfill is filled with plastic bottles,” Linda Moonias

Cashin17, Fine, pick all those plastic bottles out of the dump, as you seem to suggest? Then what? Ship them back at great expense to a recycling depot in Thunder Bay, at air freight cost? Get real. The fault lies with whoever supplies drinking water in this fashion, instead of ensuring a decent filtration and chlorination plant.

Linda Moonias seems to be pointing to the utter stupidity and waste of the Authorities in supplying the water in plastic bottles at great expense.

The recent news of the ice road opening at the end of February will be the usual winter road to the FN community, and won't go that extra distance to the ROF, since the permit for that extension hasn't come through. There might be a cost saving since goods can be trucked to a supply depot and airlifted a much shorter distance.
