Cashin, since you decided to get personal, let me respond. As a Maritimer forced to quit school in grade 10 when I turned 16 as the old Family Allowance gave out, I did odd jobs at the Saint John Winterport untill I turned 17 and then joined the Military age age 17 in 1957. I had three brothers who also joined the Military. that was your only avenue for many Maritimers without any hope of at least graduating and as we used to say, with the Navy you received " a free meal and a pair of boots". I stayed in the Military for 10 years and served on the old aircraft carrier Magnificent when the Suez War happened with the RCN, then a 109 day voyage on the Canadian Navy icebreaker, Labrador in the Artic, and after my Navy time, spent 3 years in the Yukon with the RCAF and came in contact with many, many First nations and strangely did not pick up any bigotry as so many here seemed to do. So please save your sermonizing about having to move to find work, as I have been there done that. The First Nations deserve a piece of the pie as much as any NOT, KWG, FNC, BOL, etc, shareholder. We are trespassing on their land and our only motive is greed and wanting share appreciation while they are concerned with a way of life in very serious danger of being taken away.
