Update on Sagatay Transmission Project

Current Status

Terms of reference: expiry of public comment period, March 28, 2016

Purpose

The purpose of the Undertaking is to provide an increased amount of reliable power to the region north of Dryden, which will enable First Nations to transition from diesel-generated electricity to cleaner, more reliable, grid-delivered power. At present, the existing electricity supply to Pickle Lake is at capacity, which limits the ability to connect remote communities to the Provincial electricity grid and limits potential future economic development.

Consultation

The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change will review all written comments received during a 31-day review period. Written comments received, and Sagatay Transmission L.P.’s response to them, will be considered when the decision is made about the proposed ToR.

The ToR is available for review at the public record locations identified in the Notice of Submission.
