Pickle Lake Starts Hiring:

Recently closed resume submissions for a new "Economic Development Officer":

Plus other positions are looking to be filled:

This could represent nothing, or possible movement on preparing this little community for future economic activity, and act to assist in the allocation of federal infrastructure funding. Either way, we know that the area north of Pickle Lake will be the starting point for our E/W corridor to Webequie. Neskantaga seems to be the first on the list of Matawa First Nation communities to benefit, so it would make sense that this initiative to start hiring in Pickle Lake could act to handle some of their future requests, and/or infrastructure needs and planning. I know many here may disagree in my view, but I think at this point all signs of positive change should be noted. Especially in regards to Pickle Lake, who have just recently closed resume submissions for a new " Economic Development Officer", who are looking to fill multiple municipal positions, and whose mayor in the past has said that the "Ring of Fire" was the only way his little town was going to survive. I believe this same mayor even went so far as to say that without the prospect of success in developing the Ring of Fire that Pickle Lake would eventually go bankrupt. So, for Pickle Lake to start hiring more municipal support is a positive sign, hinting toward progress in our efforts to move the "Ring of Fire" forward.

GLTA,

TM.
