(1) Mayor of Mississauga Bonnie Crombie
We have Mayor Bonnie Crombie of Mississauga in a picture and she ...also led an investment mission to Japan in April.
something kind of interesting in Mississauga.....
2 years ago...This Mississauga battery maker..buys the biggest gigafactory in europe. A billion dollars worth of stuff for an undisclosed amount...amazing how that happened..
In the 2nd link ..something interesting to note:
James West: Okay. So let’s talk a bit about your lithium ion super-polymer battery. What is exactly the composition of the battery in terms of the cathode and anode, what materials are used, and how much lithium is in there? What percentage of the composition is lithium by volume?
Sankar Das Gupta: So the electrodes we use are fairly standard in the industry, so one electrode is a graphite electrode and the other electrode is a lithium metal oxide, and the metal oxides we like has got high nickel content, high manganese, and with a dash of cobalt in it...
And you will recognize a very familiar name listed as an insider of this company......Dalton McGuinty . His Role is Strategic Advisor and Director..

On May 4th and 5 th, 2017, Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Markham Regional Councillor Nirmala Armstrong, and Markham Councillor Logan Kanapathi visited the remote northern Ontario community of Eabametoong First Nation. This is their first visit to the community since signing a Cultural Collaboration Agreement in January. The purpose of their visit was to formally acknowledge their new relationship in Eabametoong First Nation territory and meet with community members to explore how the relationship can be developed in a mutually beneficial and respectful way. Upon their arrival in Eabametoong, Mayor Scarpitti, Regional Councillor Armstrong and Councillor Kanapathi were greeted by Chief Elizabeth Atlookan, Council, and Band members with a welcoming song performed by hand drummers Elmer Atlookan, Kurt Atlookan and Steven Meeseetawageesic. A pipe ceremony and feast were held, at which Mayor Scarpitti remarked that “Eabametoong First Nation is a dynamic community that has seen positive changes come about so far. Our hope is with the support and the partnership we will be able to further strengthen the relationship so that both our communities will benefit.
A partnership for what. Who knows but I notice....Mitsubishi Electric is located in Markham.
And the Mayor of Markham is back in Japan with a delegation of four in November this year.

The Province of Ontario is partnering with MHI Canada Aerospace Inc. (MHI) to invest in new equipment and upgrade its Mississauga facility, creating 90 jobs and maintaining 636 positions. MHI is a subsidiary of Japan-based Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and manufactures major aircraft structures and assemblies. It is a primary aerospace supplier in Ontario capable of building complete aircraft wings, assembling the wings to the fuselage, and installing systems for the two parts. It also performs systems and flight control assembly installations and testing. The partnership will help MHI independently support the entire Bombardier Global 5000/6000 program currently undertaken by MHI, as work will be transferred from MHI Japan to Ontario. It will also boost MHI Canada Aerospace's competitiveness and position it as the only tier one supplier of choice for aerospace structures in Canada.
