Message: Ring "Secret"ariat

This forum does more to keep us updated than this "Secret"ariat has ever divulged.

I think it's time for them to earn their keep.

The EA statement still says Cliffs has an application submitted... "Cliffs and Noront have volunteered to make their projects subject to an environmental assessment under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act (EAA) and are completing environmental assessments under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA)."

Wondering if any of the people below are still on the secretariat payroll, and can take a day to go through the website to "get it right" with current events and milestones.  Maybe some forwar looking statements?  Like when the EA submitted in 2011 is expected to be approved.

If the provincial government changes to a different party, do these folks remain on the "secret"ariat, or are they replaced with a new group?

Meet the Secretariat

Dr. Christine Kaszycki, Ring of Fire Coordinator

Christine began her career as a Geologist initially with the Geological Survey of Canada and then with the Ontario Geological Survey in Sudbury. In 1997, Christine moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where she became the Assistant Deputy Minister for Mineral Resources in the province. In that capacity, she led the development and implementation of Manitoba’s mineral sector protected areas strategy. She also led the development of Manitoba’s Mineral Sector Guidelines for fostering relationships and economic opportunities with First Nations and Métis communities in the province.

Christine rejoined the Ontario Public Service in September 2005 as Assistant Deputy Minister for the Mines and Minerals Division in Sudbury where her efforts were focused on developing relationships and supporting economic opportunities with First Nations and Métis communities, enhancing the growth of Ontario’s mineral cluster through implementation of Ontario’s first Mineral Development Strategy, and establishing the regulatory framework and value added cluster related to diamond production in Ontario.

Christine was appointed as the Assistant Deputy Minister for Ring of Fire coordination in 2010. In this role, Christine works with various levels of government, Aboriginal peoples, northerners and the mineral industry to ensure a collective effort is undertaken to advancing economic development in this promising area.

I would guess that if any big infrastructure or EA news were to be announced....these people would all be present along with Michael Gravelle, Steven Delduca, Kathryn McGarry, Kathleen Wynne and a pile of other people.  Is there any time before now and the provincial election where the stars align and they'll all be in the same room?

Happy long weekend everyone...hopefully we can put some lipstick on this pig soon ;)
