Let's talk about Mr. Ford for a second, and why he would have said he was willing to, "Jump on a bulldozer and get the road to the Ring of Fire built"..Purely a figure of speech, of course..I think probably because at the time he made his comment all he saw were bureaucrats, and Chiefs, wasting a lot of time talking.  Doug, to me, is a business man, and like every good business man a straight line from point A to point B is the first thing on his mine.  I personally do not see Doug as a book smart type of guy, but instead a practical bloke.  When his comment was made he was in an expedient frame of mine, with a simple solution to the problem.  I do not think he had any idea how complex building a road up to the Ring of Fire would be....That is.....Until after he was told.

Don't be too quick to judge what his true intentions are before you hear him out....I believe he knows what he must do to move forward, and if the First Nations are as patient as you say then they should not jump to conclusions until after June 30; when the PCs take power.
