I made the election to retain all my shares over the phone with TD web broker. But TD cannot provide any verification of my election and elections don't appear anywhere on your online TD web broker account. The phone agent said that TD keeps a recording of the phone call and that should be good enough for me because they're a trustworthy bank/brokerage. When I asked for something for my records he said nobody asks for that. After I asked for at least an email he put me on hold for 15 minutes. He came back and said that somebody will look into my request for some form of confirmation of my election, that there is no guarantee that my request will be approved, and that I will be notified of their decision via a letter sent by regular mail and that it would take at least 7 days for them to make the decision.
