Aves-
Don't confuse goals with promises. They are two different things. An organization needs to set targets and go after them. The POET mgmt did just that earlier in the year and are proceeding to execute to them. You speak like POET controls every element of the process and signing a billion agreement is like picking up a pack of smokes at the corner store. Slight exagration - but the impression i get.
Do not under estimate the undertaking this is. Unless you are power broker (you could be) who cuts M+A deals regularly, you may not understand the complexities here (nor do I, frankly).
I get it. You have been in PTK for years and are sick of waiting. You have right to your opinions/feelings and i too enjoy 99% of the posts and opinions on this board. Guys like you bring a balance to board which is healthy, so do not let me discourage you from speaking you mind or challenging some of the bulls here.
My point is, do not make POET mgmt out to be people who are breaking promises. This is an evolving beast of an endevour and parameters change frequently. I am positve POET mgmt is doing everything they can to maximize the return for shareholders.
I also don;t think an outright purchase is off the table at all. I think a buy out is still very much in play and still can happen before X-Mas (or 1H of next year). Licensing may drive a revenue stream and SP boost as we pursue a buyout. Can POET go the pure licensing route only, as an operating company for many years to come? It is possible but my (uninformed) opinion is this is very unlikely. I see Adam, Mark, Peter and company to be at certain stage in their career to avoid a 10 year stint to uild the license stream of POET.
I think the goal is prove out the tehcnology at acceptable die sizes asap and get this things bought out.
In no way is this note to be mean or dismissive....let's just keep in mind we have a BOD who is working hard to put the puck in the net. There is likely a lot we don't know and won't know until it is over.
I am still very bullish on this investment - and know the technology DR. Taylor and team have developed will be of signifcant value to many organizations. It is matter of extracting the best deal we can.
Great weekend everyone.
