I understand how the POET chip has an extremely compelling cost advantage by combining multiple chips onto a single monolithic chip for O/E interace. That point is made very clearly in the corporate presentation and that ability alone should (will!) make POET an extremely valuable intellectual property.

What does PET offer beyond increased speed (at 100nm or smaller) and reduced power consumption? As if those were not enough!
