It will largely depend on how "disruptive" POET is deemed to be in the eyes of the government of the time, not only on the military side, but also on the consumer side as well.

They could split that decision, allowing the consumer side to be sold and forbidding the military side to do so, which in my eyes would be the way it ought to go.

Problem is, whoever controls POET, even on the consumer side, may end up with the entire enchilada, until the patents run their course and others can benefit from Dr. T's erudition.

It really shouldn't be a concern since by the time that happens, everyone will know what POET can do and we sure as hell won't get lowballed.
