The perception that POET will achieve whatever particlar value in the future is at the heart of each and every investors motive to invest. I enjoy immensely the exercise that better minds than my own can justify values that effectively make this investment the greatest financial idea I hsve ever undertaken (I am a member of Andrea's $70 club if she's still monitoring the board).
The problem for me is not predicting the ultimate value but defining a personal exit strategy that allows me to achieve my personally defined life goals. There's no need for me to define them here but but it would not surprise you if one of them is to own a bigger trimaran before my fast declining physical reserves prevent me enjoying this goal.
Already we have seen members of this board forced by personal circumstances to reduce their holdings when time has run out for them before the big SP breakout they envisaged failed to occur That makes me feel quite sad for them but then that is the nature of the beast we are riding.
Whilst I have not a clue what ultimate value POET will achieve I do have a personal target and exit strategy to deliver those personal goals for me and my family or perhaps more honestly I should say I am working on it, it's a work in progress. I am trying to be realistic and not to be greedy.
In this context the ultimate value matters little to me but achieving my goal values matters a lot. I have set goal 1 at $17 for 10% of my holdings and goal 2 at $51 as a trigger point when I would consider liquidating the balance of my holding in salami slices. I will retain 30% of current holdings as a legacy and reserve.
Any other ideas or advice for exit strategies out there?
