The bottom line is that the demand for the products they were building initially was very modest and fell short of expectations. I believe that has been explained a number of times here. Did they learn from this? I think it is clear that they have both technically and in their current commercial executions with the advanced optical engines. By all accounts from both external and internal sources those POET products will be in very high demand.
I do not fret over what appears to be competition. There will definitely be competition but the Optical Interposer really has been developed to such a high level of flexibility as to provide a complete solution that it would be extremely difficult for anyone to match.
A very quick look at Teramount shows really good fiber coupling but it still falls short of POET’s numbers and it is not a total solution. It is not what POET has.
Seems to me the demand is going to be so great that the total industry is going to need to supply that demand.
