Message: Peter! Is there a PYR fit in the mining industry?

Hello Tim in Vancouver,

For ease of reference, please find below the answers to your questions in red. I hope it helps.

  • Could PYR plasma potentially be a fit to replace these stationary burners?

PyroGenesis’ proprietary plasma torches are a viable replacement for fossil fuel burners in high temperature applications, typically 1,000 C or more, and that is what we are concentrating our efforts on. It is a huge market.  Stationary burners operates at much lower temperatures and it would generally be possible to electrify them by using heating elements, which are much less CAPEX intensive. We are not focusing on this market at this time.

  • Could AirScience technology be a fit for mining methane capture?

Air Science has the technology to remove nitrogen, oxygen, CO2 or other gases and pressurize the methane to pipeline pressures.

  • Do you know how Teck currently deals with their dross and could Drossrite be a fit?

Yes, we have tested the DROSRITE™ pilot system with zinc dross and the results were very good.

  • Are you talking to mining companies (like Teck)... or rather are they knocking on your door?

We are constantly being approached by various mining companies. As previously mentioned in press releases, we have been talking to many of them.

Rodayna on behalf of Peter
