I think it’s worth mentioning that clinical trialists are rarely also basic scientists. They are experts in how to test the efficacy and safety of drugs, but not on their mechanisms of action. It’s a totally different discipline. Also, as his presentation was on lipidology, it’s not unreasonable he mentioned only the effects on HDL.
